Intelligent Mail Data Aquisition System
Developed and updated 3 instructor-led training courses for the Intelligent Mail Data Acquisition System (IMDAS) project with the U.S. Postal Service. These courses were delivered to USPS trainers and support personnel on the theory and operation of the new Intelligent Mail Data Acquisition System. Instruction and exercises were developed for all courses.
- IMDAS Train-the-Trainer - A one-day course for USPS trainers focused on system concepts and handheld operation.
- IMDAS Help Desk Training - A two-day course for support personnel that included system concepts and operation, server and handheld operation, and troubleshooting scenarios.
- Intelligent Mail Asset (IMA) Training - A one-day course for District Coordinators on the theory and operation of the new asset management system developed for the IMDAS program.
Other activities:
- Updated and maintained the Intelligent Mail Device (IMD) User Guide and Quick Reference Card.
- Conducted pilot training sessions with Motorola Adjunct Instructors and Motorola support personnel.
- Collaborated with Motorola Project Management Office on project documentation storage and distribution.
All USPS training materials and documentation are proprietary. The following eLearning prototype (Flash Demo) was developed for demonstration purposes using Adobe Captivate 2 and requires that your browser have the Adobe Flash Player installed as a helper application.
CGISS OneSource Primary Training
Developed and delivered the CGISS OneSource Primary Training, which is a two-day course for CGISS marketing writers and editors. The main objective was to teach CGISS marketing writers how to create web content using the new OneSource content management system. Course material was obtained from system requirements documentation and pre-release system versions. Course materials consist of MS PowerPoint presentations for participants and lab exercises. The course was organized as follows:

- Class 3, Epic XML Editor Lab
- Day Two
- Class 4, Using TeamSite
- Class 5, Workflow Practices
CGISS OneSource Primary Training, Class 2, Lessons 1-2
This PDF (PDF) contains Lessons 1 and 2 of the Class, Using Epic XML Editor. Other lessons in the class included, Using the DTD Viewer, TeamSite Interface, Re-using Content, Tagging Content with Metadata, and Saving Content.
The CGISS CMS Training Detailed Design (PDF) contains lesson plans for all two days of instruction.
ASTRO 25 6.3 Trunking Technical Workshop
As an instructional designer, revised and updated the ASTRO 25 6.3 Trunking Technical Workshop, which is a two-week troubleshooting course for system technicians and service group personnel. Content was obtained from previous training modules, system documentation and pre-release specifications. Course materials consist of MS PowerPoint presentations for instructors and participants, assessments and lab exercises.
ASTRO SmartZone 5.1.0 Documentation
Acted as project lead for major revision of system, operations and administration documentation. System information was obtained from design specifications and interviews with system designers. Acted as Subject Matter Expert and content editor for project writers. All guides were produced with Adobe's FrameMaker 5.5 and Photoshop, and converted to PDF files with Adobe Acrobat.
MTC 3600 Trunking Controller
Researched and wrote the MTC 3600 Trunking Controller Operations Guide. This publication won an Award of Excellence at the 28th Annual Chicago Technical Publications, Art and Online Communication Competition sponsored by the Society of Technical Communication - Chicago Chapter.
MTC 3600 Operations Guide, MTC Theory of Operations (PDF) is part of the hardware operations set for the Motorola 3600 radio trunking controller. Information was obtained from interviews with hardware engineers, sytem support personnel and design specifications.
